Bursary Application Form – WSET Level 4 Diploma 2024

The WSET Diploma Award in Wines is one of the most challenging but rewarding qualifications in wine and the IWEC is proud to be able to facilitate learning for what we hope will be the new leaders in the South African wine industry. Thanks to the Gérard Basset Foundation we are delighted to offer just two bursaries for deserving students to enable them to join this top level course.

The cost of the course is R135,000 and this bursary is worth R105,000 per student.

Requirements:
~ You have passed WSET Level 3 in Wines with a Merit or Distinction grade.
~ You are currently employed in the wine/hospitality/tourism industries.
~ You are from an historically disadvantaged community.
~ You can commit financially by covering the balance of the cost of the course (ZAR30,000).
~ You are committed to attend all lectures and exams (dates on website) held in Stellenbosch.
~ You have regular access to a computer and reliable internet access (N.B. your study books will be eBooks).
~ You are motivated to make a difference in the wine industry in Africa.

Please note the following before you make your application:
You are advised to supplement your studies with structured wine tastings at your own expense.
If you need to retake any exam unit there will be additional charges.
This bursary cannot be combined with any other bursaries.
