About: Cathy Marston
Cathy hails from the UK and after completing her English degree at Cambridge University, took a year out to travel to Australia and Asia. Returning to the UK she worked for Adnams Wine Merchants where she undertook all her WSET exams, culminating in the Diploma in 1998. During her time with Adnams, she visited wineries in Australia, California, France, Germany, England and has also visited breweries and distilleries around the world.
Cathy came to South Africa in 2001 and opened The Nose Restaurant & Wine Bar. After seven successful years, she sold The Nose in 2009 and since then Cathy has concentrated on writing and educating people on and about wine.
Cathy was the first Approved Programme Provider in Southern Africa for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and also tastes for the Platter Wine Guide, Classic Wine magazine, SAA and other competitions.
