Level 2 – ‘looking behind the label’ (Distance Learning)

 

The International Wine Education Centre offers an online distance learning option for the wine enthusiast who wishes to study for pleasure or gain a WSET qualification, but find that it is difficult to attend regular classes.

Studying online offers students the flexibility to fit their studies around their commitments and lifestyle. However, the course has no fixed study times, so students may plan their weekly studies to suit themselves. The online qualification course is designed to be interactive and make learning more accessible and engaging. The course also utilises social media to allow students to study alongside their peers under the guidance of a WSET tutor. Each week includes a series of online group activities taking students on virtual world tour of the key wine regions looking in depth at the key influences behind the styles of wine produced in each.

The WSET Level 2 Distance Learning course covers the major grape varieties, regions of the world, food and wine pairing, sparkling wines, fortified wines and the major spirits over a period of five weeks.

The exam comprises of a 1 hour written paper consisting of 50 multiple choice questions. The pass mark is 55% and is the last session of each course. Please note: the exam is NOT online.
